Matthew Barras

LCSW

Matthew is a Licensed Master Social Worker who earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas Pan-American and his Master’s Degree from Baylor University. Matthew is a Veteran who served in the United States Army for 9 years. In his career as a Social Worker, he has worked in various settings including school social work, dialysis, rehabilitation centers and inpatient hospitals.

Matthew uses a holistic approach to assess the needs of the individual, help identify issues related to the presenting problem, and resolve dilemmas the client is currently facing. He has had success in working with those ages 18 to 70 and enjoys helping clients develop a better sense of self. Matthew believes in client centered therapy and its application to help people achieve their goals. He is scheduled to receive his advanced clinical license as an LCSW in September 2021.
