Yena Malik


Yena obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Houston and began her career as a Certified Special Education Teacher for 7 years in Klein and Conroe Independent School Districts. Her passion for mentoring children and adolescents who were facing challenges lead her to pursue a Master’s of Education in School Counseling and a License in Professional Counseling. Her experiences are varied and include working with adolescents and adults in inpatient psychiatric hospitals and correctional facilities. Her therapeutic style is warm, non-judgmental, and supportive so that you may express yourself openly and freely. Her goal is to guide you in your journey; whether it is to make a life change, cope with life’s trials and tribulations, or simply speak freely to a supportive listener. Yena has an eclectic approach to psychotherapy. She utilizes Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Solution-Focused, and Mindfulness techniques. In working with young children she uses play therapy. Yena sees every positive and negative life experience as an opportunity for us to learn, develop, and grow as individuals.
