Brittany Kicker

Brittany received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Colorado State University. Following graduation, she was accepted into AmeriCorps where she dedicated 1700 volunteer hours to at-risk adolescents. Brittany then attended the University of Denver where she was accepted with advanced standing into the Graduate School of Social work as well as the university’s world-renowned Institute for Human Animal Connection. Completing the intensive graduate program in 10 months, Brittany obtained her Master of Social Work degree and Animal Assisted Social Work certification, and became certified in canine-assisted therapy. Brittany became Licensed as a Master Social Worker in 2019. She is currently supervised by Sonya E. Gonzelez, LCSW-S, LCDC.
Over the last 8 years, Brittany has focused on implementing clinical interventions founded in trauma-informed care, working with various populations to include justice-involved individuals, adults and adolescents in short-term and long-term residential treatment facilities, intensive outpatient and traditional outpatient treatment programs, school setting, and in the community providing assertive community treatment.
She believes in meeting all clients where they are and tailoring their treatment to meet their unique needs. She works from a holistic perspective which allows her to pull from her vast knowledge of interventions and theoretical orientations, including advanced Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Logotherapy, standard interpersonal effectiveness and life skills, Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Family Systems, and Solution Focused, among others. She excels in providing services to those experiencing adjustment disorders, mood and personality disorders, marriage and family issues, issues concerning work/school life, severe and persistent mental illness, and those struggling to find purpose in life. She expresses her gratitude daily that her life’s passion and career path are one and the same and is dedicated to serving individuals, couples, and families whom she has the honor of treating.
